For fast food near you in Thailand, search a map for the meal or chain you want, then check the exact branch and the route to its entrance. For delivery, set your address in GrabFood or LINE MAN before choosing a restaurant. Those searches answer different questions: where you can eat and who can bring food to you.
I would make the first decision around the time available. If you need food before a train or flight, a nearby counter with a visible queue is easier to judge than an unfamiliar delivery estimate. At a hotel during rain, delivery may be the more convenient option once the full cost and arrival estimate are clear.
Start with a useful search
Use “fast food near me” for an overview, then narrow it to “burgers,” “fried chicken,” “pizza,” or a chain name. Add your neighbourhood if the results drift too far away: “KFC Nimman Chiang Mai” is more precise than “KFC Chiang Mai Province.” The Thai search ฟาสต์ฟู้ด ใกล้ฉัน means fast food near me; ไก่ทอด ใกล้ฉัน looks for fried chicken nearby.
Check that the map is centred on where you are now. If you are planning from another city, enter the hotel or neighbourhood yourself. A saved delivery address or a map left over from yesterday’s outing can send the search to the wrong place.
Open the individual result and look at its street, shopping centre, floor and entrance. Then compare the walking route. A branch across a divided road, inside a mall or beyond airport security may be close on the map but awkward or impossible to reach from your present position.
Chains worth searching by name
McDonald’s is useful when you want burgers, fries or a familiar ordering format. The Thai menu also includes local items such as the Samurai Pork Burger and rice dishes. Read the actual item name and ingredients; a familiar logo does not mean the menu is identical to the one at home.
The McDonald’s Thailand store locator separates Bangkok, provincial and airport locations. It also distinguishes branches with different hours. For example, the Thai branch listings show Ratchadamnoen in Bangkok as operating 24 hours, while Union Mall has a more limited 11am–10pm schedule. Treat those as branch details to reconfirm, not chain-wide opening hours.
KFC is a straightforward search for fried chicken. Its Thai ordering service offers pickup and delivery, and individual restaurant pages give the branch address and service options. Make sure the basket belongs to the branch you intend to collect from; two outlets with the same logo can be in quite different parts of a city.
Burger King is another burger option. In Chiang Mai, the Tha Phae Gate branch is a useful landmark to search if you are around the eastern side of the Old City. Check the current entrance and hours before making a late-night trip; an old directory’s “24 hours” label is not enough on its own.
Chester’s is a Thai quick-service chain with grilled chicken and rice meals, including grilled chicken rice and spicy chicken rice. I would include it in the search when the group wants a rice-based meal in a counter-service setting. It gives you a different starting point from looking only for burgers.
Choosing between pickup and delivery
GrabFood offers delivery and pickup from participating restaurants. Enter the destination first, choose the meal and inspect the checkout total. Delivery fees, promotions and available service options can change with the address and order.
LINE MAN operates food ordering across Thailand’s 77 provinces, but coverage does not extend to every address. Set your exact pin to see what is available. A restaurant missing from the app may be outside the delivery area or unavailable for orders; that does not by itself prove the physical restaurant is closed.
Foodpanda stopped its Thai delivery service in May 2025. Advice telling you to use it for a new order in Thailand is outdated.
For a hotel delivery, use the correct property and entrance, add the hotel name, and ask reception where riders should meet guests. Be reachable through the app. If you want pickup, deliberately select that option and check the collection address before paying.
I compare the total for the food I actually want, including delivery and other displayed charges. A large discount headline is not helpful if it requires extra dishes or applies only to an option you cannot use. Likewise, the shortest arrival estimate is still an estimate; leave a better margin when a departure time is fixed.
A quick Thai meal may be closer
If your aim is simply to eat promptly, expand the search beyond international chains. Khao man gai is chicken served with rice, khao rat gaeng is rice with prepared curries or other dishes, and khao pad is fried rice. A stall or food-court counter serving these can suit a quick lunch, depending on the queue and whether the food is ready or cooked to order.
Search for the dish, then look at recent menu photographs. A restaurant category such as “fast food” is broad enough to include burger restaurants with table service, vegan cafés and small rice shops. The label alone tells you little about the wait.
At a food court, check the payment arrangement before joining a queue. Some use a stored-value card or coupon system. Ask about the return of any unused balance while you are at the payment counter.
Late opening and dietary needs need a branch check
For a late meal, use an open-now filter and then confirm the individual branch. Ask whether its dining room is open, whether only takeaway or drive-through is operating, and when orders stop. A restaurant inside a closed shopping centre will not necessarily be accessible just because another branch of the chain is open all night.
For vegetarian food, halal requirements or allergies, check the current Thai menu and speak to that branch. A chicken dish is not automatically halal, and a meat-free-looking item does not establish how it was prepared. Ask about sauces, cooking oil and shared equipment when those details matter. If staff cannot confirm an essential requirement, choose somewhere that can.
Once the branch, route, menu and service are clear, there is usually little benefit in continuing through a long ranking of restaurants. For this kind of meal, I would choose the option that fits the available time and can deliver the order you need.
